If you have no clue where Mesquite, TX is, it’s okay. I didn’t know either and come to find out it is about 15-20 minutes outside of Dallas, TX. Mesquite, TX is a very small town with the upmost southern hospitality. I got invited for a weekend and I decided this was a perfect time for a girls weekend.

Mesquite is a pretty quiet town with a whole lot of personality and history.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas-Mesquite and we were greeted by the sweetest people and they truly made us feel like we were home.

Mesquite barbecue

145 E. Davis St., Mesquite, TX

HOLY BBQ! This might be some of the best bbq that I have ever had. Family Owned & Operated since 1959, making it the oldest restaurant in Mesquite, Texas. The service here is great but the food is even greater.

This sweet floral shop located in Downtown Mesquite. Get your florals and gifts here for your loved ones.

The history with all of the buildings and the small town feel of Mesquite is unlike others. We weren’t sure what to expect going to Mesquite but every single person we met was so nice and loved letting us know the History of each building and business.

Mesquite Rodeo

Now you know, your girl loves a Rodeo and this sure as hell wasn’t my first rodeo! Mesquite Rodeo is a much smaller than what I was used to but it’s all about quality not quantity. We had a personal suite where we got a front view of all the action. We were there for the Mesquite Championships Rodeo. The executive suite can have catering if you would like and they had a bar and I swear I became besties with the bartender. We laughed, we cheered, we had a wonderful time.

If you love the rodeo as much as I do and want to visit Mesquite, you are in luck! I just got word that they are hosting the International Miniature Bull Riding Association World Finals on Dec. 7 – 12. Looks like I have some planning to do.

Mesquite hospitality is unlike any other and they are building up Mesquite and I cannot wait to go along for the process.

This isn’t the last time Mesquite will see me, I will be back VERY soon!
